When Is the Best Time
The Sevilla Rock Art Trail is an outstanding self-guided rock-art trail and an excellent year-round destination. Read on for our tips regarding seasons, weather, and tourist crowds:
Beautiful in spring, especially during the wildflower season in August/September. However, rain occurs until the end of August. October is not too hot. The summer from November to March is warm, dry and hot at midday. Hiking in summer is best in the morning. Autumn from April to mid-May is still warm and pleasant for hiking. Most precipitation in the winter until August. However, winter is frequently dry and sunny. The nights are pretty chilly.
It's usually not crowded due to its remote location. However, the Sevilla Rock Art Trail is busier on weekends and especially school holidays.

Location and Tips
The Sevilla Rock Art Trail is located on the Traveller's Rest Farm. It's an easy 5 km hike to 9 impressive San Bushmen painting sites. In spring wildflowers occur along the trail. It is estimated that the paintings are between 8000 and 800 years old. The entrance fee is Rand 40, a leaflet for the hike is handed over.
Parking is close to the Brandewyn River and the farm. Self-catering cottages and a restaurant are available.
