After stormy weather, especially in spring and autumn, you may find larger pieces of amber. For relaxing at the beach and other outdoor activities you may prefer the warmer summertime.

Rain and showers occur throughout the year. Usually, April-July experiences less rain. Due to the exposed location, November to March are cold almost freezing, only in July and August temps are on average above 20°C.

The Curonian Spit is a long shifting sand dune that forms a peninsula in the Baltic Sea. The forest and the beach represent the landscape. When walking at the beach observe the small signs that show the border to the Russian side and make sure not to cross the border. Even on calm days you should be able to find very small pieces of amber.
