Hiking and Camping in the Karijini National Park - 6 Gorges and 9 Tips
Very nice trail to walk with lots of water to refresh!!
I stayed at the eco-retreat campground near all the adventures gorges. First started with the WEANO GORGE, an amazing gorge with some big pools and the famous handrail pool with cold water. Second gorge, HANCOCK GORGE my favorite of them all with some great pictures below was fantastic with at the end of the walk the very deep Kermits pool were you can swim and do some jumps into the water.
Over all KARIJINI so far has been amazing with new trails to do every day with always some water to cool in between.
Swim With Whale Sharks and Humpbacks Along Ningaloo Reef
Swimming with the humpbacks was sooo awesome. An experience you will never forget. The whales came so close; just swimming underneath. Be prepared; the sea is pretty cold. We got a neoprene borrowed, but it wasn't enough. Just two groups of seven people are allowed to swim with humpbacks. The boats are quite big for just 14 people.
St. Kilda Little Penguins - Latest Update About the Closure and New Fee in 2025
I came to St.Kilda mid-September. Unfortunately, there were just two penguins hiding. It was cold and a little rainy that day.
Piha Beach and Karekare Beach and Falls North of Auckland
What a beautiful beach and forest around. I booked the Piha Beach House which is mentioned here. Such a quiet location. Unfortunately, I stayed here for three nights only. It was fully booked afterward. It was the best accommodation on my trip through NZ so far. I highly recommend to walk to the top of the waterfall.
Tide Times and Walk to the Cathedral Cove & Beach in Coromandel
Cathedral Beach is awesome in summer. So beautiful for swimming. Luckily, I spend a couple of days here. The first days low tide was too early because my dorm bed at the Holiday Park was a 10 km walk away. On my last day, I could get there on time finally. Check where you stay when traveling by bus. The mentioned backpacker hostel above is perfectly located but was already fully booked when I arrived.
Tongariro Crossing Season Guide and Tips for the Alpine Crossing Hike
Tongariro Crossing is incredible. Except for snow, I experienced all in one day in January. I started very early and hiked the trail in less than 5 hours, a bit fast ;). It was cloudy at the beginning, but it became foggy in higher elevation, so I even couldn’t see the red crater. The wind was strong up there. A wind- and rain jacket was needed. Later on, it cleared up a little on the trail to the Taranaki Falls. Overall a hike not to be missed on the north island.
Abel Tasman Coastal Track and Beaches
Abel Tasman is a beautiful National Park, I spent three nights here which was too short for all the awesome beaches. One day the weather was fabulous the other day heavy rainfall. I booked the mentioned kayak trip and spotted a baby shark. This boat tour is one of my favorites so far. Definitely, watch the sunrise early morning. I got up at 6 am and highly recommend.
Milford Sound Cruise on a Sunny Day plus Tips and Hikes - One Day Itinerary
I visited Milford on a day trip from Queenstown. It was indeed fantastic!!! Although, quite a ride and a long day but worth every second. Really one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to! The best part was when we went with the boat to the bottom of a waterfall. I booked the Milford Sound Tour and Cruise via GetYourGuide mentioned here. It was very well organized. Thanks! And don't miss out lovely Queenstown. My last picture was taken there.
